Update: Zero Hour, vol. 3 of the Blackout Series

FIREWORKS

It’s been far too long since I posted here, I know. My fingers have limited me to a few thousand words a night, and those have been reserved for the manuscript I’ve been working on for the past sixteen months. Well, the rough draft of the manuscript for Zero Hour is now finished!

Let me say that again, the rough (stress ROUGH) draft of Zero Hour is finished!!

At roughly one hundred and ninety seven thousand words, this is the largest single project I’ve ever completed. It brings together several of the various plots in what I hope is an interesting and unexpected way. Major pieces are moving now, in this conflict, and by the end…. well…I don’t want to reveal too much (wink wink).

This is not the end of the story, but it is the next step. And now the manuscript will go into editing for a few rounds of rewriting and refinement, and then it will be ready to hit the shelves. In the meantime, I’m going to be very busy applying edits and building the cover and interior of the book. Previews of cover designs will be posted here as I go through that process, so keep an eye out for those updates.

Thanks to all of you readers who, over the past year and a half, have asked about the next volume in this series. That’s the best encouragement and it’s what kept me going when I was up late with swollen, aching fingers from the arthritis and I could hear my bed calling my name. I hope you all enjoy this next step in the Blackout Series and look forward to more.
